On August 25, 2017, Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the Texas coast with 130 mph winds and battering rain. It has been estimated that a million students were affected by the hurricane, with 280,000 in the Houston area still unable to start back to school this week.

Hawkins County Schools is partnering with the TN Organization of School Superintendents and other school districts across the state of Tennessee to provide school supplies to the students along the Texas coastline.

Please consider donating the following items in new condition and packaged in original form:

  • Student backpacks
  • Ruled paper for students
  • #2 pencils
  • Scissors
  • Glue

We all know the importance of students getting back into their school day routine as soon as possible. By providing basic school supplies, we can help them achieve this goal. Thank you for your support in this endeavor.

Please send all donations to school by Tuesday, September 12th.
