For 2025-26, Hawkins County Schools will focus on positive attendance and its impact on student success, now and in the future. We want to partner with you to ensure your child is in school, learning what they need to thrive as adults. Chronically Absent is 10% or more days per school year (excused or unexcused). At 5 or more unexcused absences a meeting with school staff will be scheduled. Students have 5 days to turn in parent and doctor notes. Each student may have 6 parent notes and 10 doctor notes per year. Students with 10 unexcused absences in a row or a total of 15 unexcused absences will lose their driving privileges.
